Introductory Profile: About Chris Peele

My interviewee is my dad, Chris Peele. He is a white collar defense attorney. He was born in Greensboro, North Carolina in 1974. He grew up in Houston, Texas and received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Texas. After he graduated in 1999, he began working for a large law firm called Vinson & Elkins. While there, Chris focused his practice on commercial litigation. In 2008, he became a federal prosecutor and prosecuted gun, drug, and white collar crimes. While Chris was a federal prosecutor, he spent a year and a half in Washington, D.C. prosecuting corruption cases arising out of the U.S. reconstruction effort in Iraq. He began to work with the Ashcroft Law Firm in 2014.

In the interview, Chris talked about what a white collar defense attorney does, his previous jobs as a lawyer, his experience with criminals, the criminal justice system, and more. The main subject of this interview was criminal justice. The tone of this interview was relaxed, and the information he gave was very helpful. This interview would definitely help someone understand white collar defense work and criminal justice better.
