Introductory Profile: About Kim Rosenberg

My grandfather, Kim Rosenberg, has always been a hero in my eyes. One day many years ago, he took my family and I to the Freedom Tower in New York City and told us a story. He told us about how during the attack on the Twin Towers, he’d evacuated his building across the street and how lucky he was to have been in the right places at the right times. I learned that maybe he was a hero to someone else to, or at the very least he’d made an important decision that impacted the lives of others. In this interview I was able to hear his story in depth and gain a better understanding of the event.

He was working as a SVP and Treasurer of Amex at the American Express building across the street from the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. His day started commuting just like every other day, but by 10:00 he knew this would be a day he would never forget. In an event involving 100 people, there will be 100 unique stories; in this tragic event that lead to the deaths of 3,000 people, involving an entire country, here’s my grandfather’s story.
