"I thought I was being mistreated because I had to work all the time but as it turned out that was the best thing that ever happened to me."

Introductory Profile: About Harold E. Dayton

Harold E. Dayton was born on May 19, 1932 in Liberty Hill Texas during the Great Depression and is now eighty five. His family lived on a farm and grew everything they ate, they only went into town once a week to buy the oil for their lamps.
As soon as he was old enough to work he did, he would wake up early before school and work on the farm, when he came home he worked until dinner, then it was lights out. He said his work was work that kept him busy, at the time he thought he was being abused, but now he understands why. Even though he had to work my Grandfather said it was one of the best things that ever happened to him.
